About Emily
My experience in counseling ranges from children to older adults, and a majority of my career has been work with adolescents and young adults. I believe everyone has innate skills and gifts to bring to therapy to work through challenges. My role as the therapist is to help you facilitate and practice these skills to work through these challenges. Success looks different to each individual and I hope to learn what that looks like to you.
I have been afforded the opportunity to work in a variety of areas in mental health and have experience working with mood disorders, anxiety, relationship issues, identity development, and self-esteem. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is my primary orientation, and I also draw from Reality therapy, and person-centered concepts.
I believe in the authentic relationship between therapist and client. If it doesn't feel like the right fit, I am happy to connect you with someone that is.
